Distressed game retailer GameStop made waves this week after the The Last of Us Part II story trailer was released.
It is quite common for GameStop to write their own descriptions for upcoming games to promote pre-orders, but they have raised eyebrows by listing “Dogs” as the first feature expected from The Last of Us Part II. While the inclusion of dogs as a new type of enemy is no secret, GameStop’s stretch of functionality, as well as the wording they have used, has rubbed some fans the wrong way.GameStop Weirdly Touts Dog Murder As One Of The Main Selling Features For The Last Of Us Part 2
“One of the most notable new features in the game is the inclusion of dogs,” said GameStop in the official record. “These dogs are in the game to follow your scent and will attack you as soon as they sniff you. The game doesn’t punch or “stray” from the idea that while playing as Ellie in a fight to survive, killing dogs is necessary. You will also have to face the fact that each dog has an owner, who will call the dog’s name and cry with absolute horror when he finds his lifeless furry best friend. You have been warned. “
