Blizzard’s endgame content for the upcoming Battle for Azeroth expansion is based quite heavily on the influence of the Old God and the war against N’zoth the Corruptor. As such, one of the main sources of endgame content should now be the horrible visions that parade.
Horrific Visions offers players a replayable source of drops, resources and challenges. As often as they can, players can dive into the horrible vision of one of the capitals – Orgrimmar or Stormwind – and fight corruption in another possibility in the world.
This week brings us back to Orgrimmar, where players work to free the city from the tyranny of a mad Thrall. Believing that N’zoth’s blood is the only way for his people to live, Thrall turned from shamanism and forced his city to drink blood and corrupt itself. Of course, all of this is just a story. From a gameplay point of view, players compete against their own mental health, which is slowly running out to free as much city as possible before finally eliminating Thrall himself. This succeeds in ending the vision and gives you some rewards.
Each week comes with a few different effects of madness, which become more intense depending on where you are. Fortunately, this week’s effects package is much easier than it could be, providing challengers with a bit of slack.
